How to Make a Dot Grid Notebook
You can easily make your own dot grid notebook by printing the printable dot grid paper, punching holes in it, and inserting it into a disc-bound planner or binder.
At the bottom of this post, you’ll find printable dot grid papers in various sizes.
Dot paper, dotted journal paper, or printable dot paper is better than plain paper with no lines or dots on it.
The dots assist you in creating boxes, writing cute typefaces, and drawing beautiful graphics. You can draw lines using a ruler or your bare hand. And because the dots on the dotted paper are so light, you can barely see them once you’ve completed your page in your bullet journal, leaving your planner looking elegant and uncomplicated.
If you’re bullet journaling in a blank notebook, you’ll need to use a stencil or be really proficient at what you’re doing if you want the lines and boxes to be the same size and in line with each other.
And while standard grid paper or lined paper will provide instructions, they will not provide the range of options that dotted paper does. Furthermore, drawing a line or grid on your planner will not make it look as polished as dot grid paper.
If you want to practice something before adding it to your bullet journal or dot grid notebook, printable dot paper is a great way to do it.
The advantages of using dot paper include the following:
- Dots guide you through making boxes, writing cute typefaces, and drawing pretty pictures.
- The dots are so faint that you can barely notice them once you’ve finished your page, leaving your calendar looking nice and polished.
Is it cheating to draw and write on a dot grid?
